Zepili courses are structured as self-paced learning paths. Each module builds on the previous one, but you can also enter at the point most relevant to where your business currently stands.
The starting point. This course introduces the core concepts of the circular economy — what it actually means, how it differs from recycling alone, and why it matters for manufacturers specifically. You'll explore the principles of designing out waste, keeping materials in use, and regenerating natural systems. The content is grounded in manufacturing contexts from the very first module, so the ideas connect immediately to your daily operations rather than staying abstract.
Before you can close loops, you need to understand what loops exist. This course teaches you practical methods for mapping how materials enter, move through, and leave your production facility. You'll learn to identify the points where value is lost — offcuts that go to landfill, packaging that can't be recovered, components that become obsolete. The mapping techniques taught here are adapted from industrial ecology and made usable at workshop scale.
With your material flows mapped, this course moves into action. You'll explore the reuse hierarchy — repair, refurbishment, remanufacturing, recycling — and learn how to assess which level of intervention is practical for each waste stream in your operation. The course includes frameworks for working with suppliers on material take-back, setting up internal reuse systems, and evaluating when downcycling is the only realistic option. Practical and direct.
Greenwashing is rarely intentional. It often starts with genuine enthusiasm — a manufacturer makes a real change, then overstates it in their communications. This course helps you understand what greenwashing actually is, how regulators and consumers identify it, and what the consequences can be. More importantly, it teaches you to evaluate your own claims before they go public. You'll build a personal checklist for reviewing sustainability statements and develop a clearer sense of what "credible" looks like at your scale.
The final course in the Zepili path focuses on communication — how to tell your sustainability story in a way that's accurate, compelling, and defensible. You'll learn to write product descriptions, supplier questionnaire responses, and website content that honestly represents your practices. The course covers how to acknowledge limitations and ongoing challenges without undermining your credibility, and how to frame progress as a journey rather than a destination. Tone, specificity, and evidence are central themes throughout.
